Quite a winter this spring…
I really didn’t have the time to properly write something for this blog last week and the week before, and don’t have the time to do so just yet either. So instead, I’ll share a picture with you. Presumably, it was taken today, at Kasprowy Wierch, one of the most popular and less interesting peaks in the Polish Tatras. The reason why it is popular is that you can get to the very top by cable car – no other peak in the Polish Tatras has that sort of facility. The reason why it isn’t very interesting is the same. 😉
The picture was published today on the PAP (Polish Press Agency) pages. I’m posting it here mainly for the view. But there’s another reason: I find it completely amazing. Why? Because right now I am sitting in our apartment in Warsaw and it is 20° C outside.
As an aside: looking at that photo brings back fond memories of a trip to Zakopane in the first days of May 1991 (I think) – there was snow in the mountains then too. 🙂
