New contemporary cello CD

Just noticed on the DUX site that they have a new CD out with cellist Mikołaj Pałosz improvising and playing solo cello pieces by Szymański, Carter, Lutosławski, Dutilleux, Dillon and Xenakis.

This looks really interesting, but why oh why are there no extracts to listen to?!

Hi Peter! (Nice blog you have there!) I’ve managed to find the cellist’s site (link added into post above), but no extracts there either… None of the Polish internet CD stores that I checked have the disc, I think DUX has even worse distribution over here than abroad – if that’s actually possible.

Anyway, this guy played Szymanski’s Kaleidoscope for M.C.E. during the Pawel Szymanski Festival 2 years ago – so that’s a recommendation of sorts. If I ever get my hands on this new CD of his, I’ll post a short review on the blog (with extracts! 😉 ).
