Odd quote of the day
From a Polish Music Information Centre news item about the Rafał Blechacz recital in Salzburg this August (the item is in turn based on Jacek Marczyński’s review in the daily Rzeczpospolita):
He played Bach’s Italian Concerto, pieces by Liszt, Debussy’s Estampes and, of course, Chopin – the B Minor Sonata and 2 Nocturnes from op. 62, as well as a mazurka and waltz played as encores. The directors of the festival did not agree for Blechacz to include Szymanowski’s mazurkas in the program.
What the hell?!? 😯
